Who We Are
WHO WE ARE:
Rock County Youth2Youth is a concept of “kids-talking-to-kids” and has many components to our program.
F.A.C.T. isn’t your typical youth movement. F.A.C.T. (Fighting Against Corporate Tobacco) members are strong-willed, edgy Wisconsin teens who won’t be used as pawns in corporate tobacco’s deadly game. F.A.C.T. is a youth-led, youth-driven movement with the mission of turning the tables on corporate tobacco by exposing their lies.
Y2Y at the High School Level is a peer education program implemented by high school age youth. Youth are educated to the harmful effects of tobacco, alcohol and other drug use. They then develop a substance free lifestyle message to deliver to their peers and middle school youth.
N.I.K.E. is a middle school program implemented by Middle School peer-educators. NIKE (Nicotine Is Kids Enemy) members are trained to the harmful effect of tobacco use and create a tobacco free lifestyle message to be shared with elementary youth throughout their communities.
Too Good For Drugs is a model program for elementary youth based at various neighborhood centers and after school programs centers with an intention of reducing the use of alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs. It focuses on five skills to increase children’s sense of control, responsibility and self-efficacy: goal setting, decision making, bonding with others, identifying and managing emotions, and communicating effectively.
T.E.G. is a Tobacco Education Group that was designed to help youth quit their tobacco use.
Double Dutch Prevention Awareness Team is a substance abuse prevention awareness program with a primary focus on alcohol abuse. Members educate using the fun sport of Double Dutch jump roping.
Positive Teen of the Month has a goal of recognizing the positive impact youth have on communities and to change the preception of teens to a positive one.
